大众媒介接触对美国民众中国形象认知的影响

摘    要:为了分析大众媒介接触对美国民众的中国形象和中美关系认知的影响,对美国民众进行在线抽样问卷调查,获得2 200个样本。运用多元线性回归对样本进行数据分析发现:通过报纸、电视、广播、新闻网站和社交媒体接触中国新闻的频率对美国民众的中国形象认知均无显著影响,但通过杂志接触中国新闻的频率与美国民众对中国的印象呈正相关;通过电视、广播和新闻网站接触中国新闻的频率对美国民众的中美关系认知有显著影响。此外,虽然美国主流媒体对中国的报道在总体上呈现出较为严重的负面倾向,但美国民众通过各类媒介接触中国新闻的总频率却与其对中国的印象呈正相关,这是由于美国民众通过其他渠道接触到的有关中国信息相比媒体的新闻报道更为负面。

Abstract:In order to analyze the impact of mass media contact on American perceptions of China''s image and Sino-US relations, an online sample questionnaire survey was conducted among Americans and 2 200 samples were obtained. Multiple linear regression was used to analyze the data of the sample and it was found that:the frequency of Americans'' accessing Chinese news through newspapers, television, radio, news websites and social media had no significant impact on their perceptions of China''s image, but the frequency of Americans'' accessing Chinese news through magazines was positively correlated with their impression of China, and the frequency of their accessing Chinese news through television, radio, and news websites had a significant impact on their perceptions of Sino-US relations. Although American mainstream media reports on China generally show a relatively serious negative tendency, the total frequency of accessing Chinese news of Americans through various media has a positive correlation with their impression of China, because the information about China that Americans get through other channels is more negative than that of the news covered by the media.
