| 摘 要： | “绘事后素”出自《论语·八佾》孔子与子夏的一段对话中。孔子借用“绘事后素”来解释庄姜“素以为绚”的美,子夏又将之引申到习礼的过程中。后人对“绘事后素”的解释,有绘事“后于素”和“达于素”两种,从商周时期衣帛彩绘的实际过程出发,认为将“绘事后素”释为绘事“达于素”,更贴近孔子的原意,更切合当时的织绣工艺的实际,从训诂上讲,这一解释也不违背先秦时期“后”字的常见用法。

| Abstract: | Hui Shi Hou Su' comes from cloth and silk decoration in Xia, Shang and Zhou Dynasties, which was used by Confucius to describe Zhuang Jian's beauty, and extended by Zi Lu into the process of learning Li. The sentence 'Hui Shi Hou Su' should be explained as 'painting is lastly completed by plain color' instead of 'painting on the silk of plain color', in order to get close to its original meaning, the syntactic principles and the weaving and embroidering process in Pre-Qin days. |
