An analysis of indigenization of social work in China

The indigenization of social work is a hot topic in the development of social work in all developing coun- tries. In this article, the authors criticized the theoretical basis of social work in the western countries, and re- viewed the principles of social work indigenization in other developing countries. Based on their own empirical studies on women's self-concepts in China and Canada, the authors discussed the significance and necessities of indigenization of social work,especially the indigenization of social work with women in China, and explored the strategies and principles of indigenization of social work with women in China.
