Practical Value of the Late-Developing Advantage Theory on the Development of the West of China

The paper discusses the historical origin of the late-developing advantage theory in detail and sums up the main points of view in its development. With a focus on the main content and practical value of the theory, the paper points out that late-developing advantages are available in the late-developing areas with the introduction, imitation and study of the technology and systems of the developed areas. On the basis of the current economic development in China, it concludes that in the western part of China, the late-developing area, conditions should be created and the late-developing advantages of technology and systems should be brought into full play in order to achieve rapid economic growth.
