以马斯洛和罗杰斯为代表的人本主义心理学的人格发展观,以存在主义哲学为理论导向,肯定人格的先天潜能和发展倾向,提出了健康人格结构概念与自我实现的人格发展动机,在当代人格心理学研究中开辟了新的领域。但由于其忽视实验与实证性的科学研究方法,同时将人性本善假设无限制地推广到人格发展的社会条件和改造现实社会的理想上去,不可避免地形成了理论上的根本缺陷。
