论理工科大学非英语专业学生的翻译能力培养

摘    要:在西方大学的语文系和我国大学的外语专业,"翻译理论与实践"是一门重要的课程。虽然在理工科大学的非英语专业学生中没有开设这门课,但随着时代的发展,对外交流和科技文献的翻译是今后从事科技工作的理工科学生难以回避的。因此,对理工科大学非英语专业学生进行翻译能力的培养,对学生进行翻译理论、翻译标准、翻译文体与修辞和翻译方法与技巧等的培养和实践,特别是良好的综合的人文科技素质的培养,对于理工科大学非英语专业学生的外语教学和学生动手、动脑能力的提高很有意义。

Abstract:"Translation Theory and Practice" is an important course in both language department of western universities and foreign language department of Chinese universities. This course is rarely of fered to non -English majors in universities of science and engineering in China, yet with growing in ternational exchanges, science and engineering students are more frequently than ever to be asked to translate sci techliterature. Therefore, it is necessary to nurture their translating capability by giving them lectures and trainings in translation theory, translation standards, translation styles and rhetorics, translation methods and techniques. Sound overall quality of the humanities and social sciences is especially meaningful for language teaching and students' mental and practical capabilities.
