| Abstract: | Urbanization is a trend accompanying the industrialization process of social development and also the path to modernization in China.This paper discusses the principle for the coordinated development of the large,medium-sized cities and townships in our country's urbanization process. It points out that the emphasis should now be placed on the development of townships and make it the start point of urbanization.The paper also analyzes the significance and implications of this transitional institutional arrangement for townships' adaptation to the national status quo. |
