A historical perspective of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Region's position as the nation's highest economic gradient region

Guangdong was not orignally a high economic gradient region and an extensive business center.Its development as a high economic gradient region and an extensive business center started in the Ming Dynasty,maturing during the late Qing Dynasty and later achieving its current position equal to that of the Yangtze River Delta.Recognition and study of this historical process can help better understand the characteristics of the two economic circles of the Pearl River Delta and Yangtze River Delta,as well as the growth of the other economic regions of China.
