凌鸿勋的高等教育思想及实践

凌鸿勋是著名的铁路专家,不仅如此,他还曾担任交通大学校长,是一位教育家。1924~1928年任职期间,他对学校行政教学体制进行改革,宣扬读书救国和交通救国的观念,力图培养学理与实用并重的人才,重视学生课外活动与体育锻炼,使得交通大学得到迅速发展,有＂东方麻省理工学院＂之称。

On Ling Hongxun's Higher Education Thought and Practice

Ling Hongxun was a famous expert of railway,He once served as the president of Shanghai Jiaotong University.He was also an educationist.During his office term between 1924 and 1928,he reformed the administration and teaching system,proclaiming that the nation would be saved with knowledge and transportation.He endeavored to cultivate students with scientific knowledge and practical ability,and attached importance to the extracurricular activities and sports exercises.Hence the rapid development of Shanghai Jiaotong University,which was also known as the oriental Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
