延安大学诞生于抗日战争的烽火硝烟中，在中共中央和中共中央西北局、陕甘宁边区政府的直接领导下，在延安的土窑洞里、延河畔上、清凉山的石崖旁，延安大学体育系同其它系科共同走了过艰苦办学的历程，培养了数以万计的具有献身精神和专门技能的优秀人才。

Yan＇an University was founded at the time of Anti -Japanese War. Under the direct guidance of the Central Committee of the CCP, the Northwest Party Bureau of the Central Committee of the CCP and the Shaanxi - Gansu- Ningxia Border Region Government, the Physical Department of Yan＇an University, along with other departments, went through numerous hardships and cultivated thousands of talents with spirits of devotion and professional skills in the earth cave dwelling, alongside the Yan River and the stone cliff of Qingliang Mountain.
