怀特海与张岱年早期著作中的“事”概念

张岱年接受了怀特海“事”的观念 ,也接受了二十世纪前期流行的物质结构论。前者重在刻画事物的过程性、流动性 ,和中国传统哲学“生生之谓易”、“太和即道”的思想吻合 ,是他的形上学的基础。后者重在刻画事物的规律性、确定性 ,是他的新唯物论的基础。两种物质观并存于张岱年前期哲学中 ,表现出他对外来思想的接受和融会方式

A.N.Whitehead and Concept of Event(shi) in Zhang Dainian's Early Writings

Zhang Dainian accepted the concept of event(shi) from A.N.Whitehead and he also accepted the theory on structure of matter that was the rage in early twenty-century. The former depicted mainly the character of process and flow of things, it anastomosed with the Chinese traditional thought in Changing and great harmony. This is the basic of his metaphysics. The latter depicted mainly the character of rule and confirm of things. This is the basic of his new materialism. The two viewpoint of matter coexisted in Zhang Dainian's early philosophy, this indicated the mode he accepted and harmonized the foreign thoughts.
