| Abstract: | The gist of this article is to inquiry the relationship between Hsueh-hai T'an and New Text Confucianism. In the first place, the author analyzes the process of establishing Hsueh-hai T'an and its organizational characteristics. Secondly, the author points out that Hsueh-hai T'an was compatible with the style of study of Hang Learning, Sung Learning, Old Text Confucianism and New Text Confucianism; besides, the appearance of this many-sided educational institution made Kwangtung become the forefront of Ch'ing classical scholarship. |
