论湖湘文化对湖南早期现代化的负面影响

湖湘文化兼多元与一体 ,纳百川于一身 ,既集古代优秀文化之大成 ,又浓缩着封建时代遗落的历史尘迹 ,而这一切又直接影响着中国 ,尤其是湖南早期现代化发展的迟速。湖湘文化的自强不息的变革意识和兼容众长的学风 ,使湖南涌现出了一大批倡风气之先的杰出人才 ,直接推动了国家现代化的发展 ,但是 ,它尊崇程朱理学 ,强调“夷夏之辨”的观念 ,又使湖南早期现代化起步迟缓 ,导致了湖南现代化发展速度严重滞后于其他各省的结局

On the Negative Effects Exerted by HuXiang Culture upon its Early-period Modernization

HuXiang Culture is characterized system of a multi culture. It not only includes many different theories, schools and the ancient culture highlights, but also reflects the historical changes in feudal times. All these have exerted direct effects upon China, especially on the development progress of Hunan's modernization during its early period. The unceasingly renewed HuXiang culture and the fine academic atmosphere, in which learners of different schools can learn from each other, have witnessed a great many prominent scholars who advocate such a fine academic atmosphere and sped up the modernization of our country. However, Huxiang culture has constantly constrained itself within the theories of Cheng Yi and Zhu Xi (scholars in ancient China) who advocated that the China were the best nation in the world and all the other nations should learn from China. It is clear that this theory, as a result, has prevented Hunan from its fast development of its modernization and caused it to lag far behind the other provinces in our country as well.
