论宗教在民主政治中的功能

基于对世界上不同国家宗教与政治的关系考察,发现实行政教合一或者绝大多数公民不信教的国家往往实行的是集权政治,而实行政教分离且一种宗教势力比较强大的国家一般都实行民主政治。这充分说明宗教与国家政治存在一定的关联。具体来说:政教分离是实行民主政治的前提,宗教为民主政治运行提供道德基础和价值支持。同时我们也不能忽视宗教给国家政治带来的负面影响,给现代政治制造的不和谐音符,因此我们要努力发挥宗教在民主政治运行中的正功能,限制其负功能。

On the Function of Religion in Democracy
