新红学--新国学

“红学”的严格定义是对中华文化文史在“小说”中的表现体现 之考索阐释，而不是一般性的文艺评论、赏析之类的“读后感”。准此，考证遂构成红学的 重要部分。1921年以来，学术界称胡适创立的考证学派为“新红学”。而该文提出：今后的 “新红学”应具有新时期的特色，应比文史考证的简单层次更为高层，主要聚焦于从中华大 文化的意义上来观照《红楼梦》。这样的红学，方能形成真正的“新红学”，而这种学术研究可以定位于“新国学”这一先进 、崇高的坐标之上。作者同时也举例指出：反对“考证”的声音一向很响亮，但考证能解决 重要疑难问题，有助于深刻理解曹雪芹的思想和创作的特色。是以考证这一中国学术传统的 特殊研究方式和手段，在“新红学”的未来发展中，将会占有不可轻视的地位。

Neo-redology vs. New National Cultural Studies of China

Redology, the short form for studies on the A Dream of Red Mansions , has for the past one hundred years boasted to become a very impo rtant area in the academic researches of the Chinese Literature. The author poin ts out that the nature and scope of redology should not be misunderstood as a ma tter of fiction or novel, but an exploration of the depth of Chinese cultural sp lendor. In this sense, a new status and a Neo-Redology should be established. Mo reover, the author maintains, the study has its most significant value and can b e named as the New National Cultural Studies of China because A Dream of Red Mansions has in fact embodies the essence of Chinese culture-a most precious wea lth and wisdom that mankind has ever possibly created. Meanwhile, the authorals o emphasizes the function of the textual criticism , which has often been challe nged and ridiculed by some superficial scholars, in fact proving to be a not sma ll help in understanding thoroughly the spiritual significance and the innovativ e feature of the classic. In the final part of the paper the importance of the t extual criticism, the particular approach and means in the traditional studies, in the furthering of neo redology is thus emphasized again.
