银河是人们想象中的天河，作为一条想象的河流它也具有水的特性，因而在占卜预测术中与五行水紧密相连，并由此衍伸出较为复杂的数术体系。然而随着观测技术的进步，人们对星辰分布和运行有了更深刻的认识，开始根据星象在天河上构造出津桥关梁等建筑，并以此预测人事吉凶祸福。

The Milky Way and the Development of Astrology in Ancient China

The Milky Way was imagined as a river in the sky in ancient China, which is imagined to have the characteristics of water and therefore closely linked in divination with water of the five elements, thus giving rise to the more complex astrological system. However, with the advance in observation technology, people have a more profound understanding of the distribution and operation of stars, and have started constructing bridges according to the stars in the Milky Way through imagination, and thus predict people's weal and woe.
