On Earl Miner's System of Comparative Poetics

Miner built a system of intercultural comparative poetics in his Comparative Poetics. Its theoretical basis was on three basic genres: drama, lyrics and narrative literature. Because these different genres are in different cultural systems, his comparative poetics must be intercultural. Problems with value judgment and criterion for this judgment resulting from intercultural comparison can be solved through relativism which has defects, though. We can resort to a kind of stability, definiteness and scientificity to get out of these defects.
