20世纪五六十年代苏联历史学家波尔什涅夫和法国历史学家穆尼埃之间就17世纪法国社会性质问题展开的一场辩论,作为冷战时期马克思主义史学界和非马克思主义史学界之间一场成果甚丰、影响深远的学术交流,是世界史学史上的一件大事,为国际史学界所瞩目,但却长期为我国史学界所忽视。波穆之争直接涉及有关法国大革命起源的许多重大历史问题,自然有助于相关研究的深化;但更重要的,也许还是它在马克思主义历史学如何通过提升自身的科学性来推动世界历史学发展这一问题上提供的一些启示。
