| Abstract: | The different polarities of the pursuit of spirit mirrored in Yu Hua's novels are constructed by the following novels. Yelling and Drizzle is an ultimate questioning of the desperation of existence while Alive and A Record of Xu Sanguan's Selling Blood describe respectively the salvation of the desperation of existence through human vitality and love. |
