| 摘 要： | 本文从语源和思想史的角度对“现代化”与“现代性”进行了概念的清理,试图理解这里面关注的根本性问题。文章构建了一个由实证主义—人文主义和乐观主义—悲观主义构成的二维分类框架,对有关的种种理论提出了一个类型的划分,在一定程度上厘清了在社会进步问题上社会理论的基本脉络。

| Abstract: | This paper has a retrospect on the theories such as Modernization Theory, Dependency Theory, and Post-modernity Theory etc. Then the paper compares the two schools related to modernization and modernity and offers a frame of reference to grasp these theories. The frame has two dimensions. From the first dimension we judge whether the theory is empirical or theoretical. From the second dimension we judge whether it is optimistic or pessimistic. The author believes that it is a useful tool to grasp all the ideas around the concept of modernity. |
