核心期刊的选刊依据及其冷思考

核心期刊产生于20世纪30年代的英国,它是期刊发展到一定历史阶段的必然产物,其理论依据是期刊集中与分散定律,即布拉德福定律。20世纪80年代中国科学院文献情报中心首先引进并开始研究核心期刊,其后一些研究单位也开展研究,取得了一系列开始性的成果。随着核心期刊影响力的不断扩大,并且这种影响力受期刊界和学术界的推波助澜,核心期刊在受到广泛关注的同时也引发了一些争议。不可否认,核心期刊确实存在一定的局限性,但它毕竟是一种客观存在,历史贡献功不可没,其积极的一面要远远大于其消极的一面。对待核心期刊应采取科学的态度,不能把它的作用推向极端,而应该克服它的局限性,科学合理地加以应用,使其在激活学术期刊市场、促进学术繁荣与发展方面发挥积极的作用。

Core journals appeared in the 30 decade of the 20th century in England.They are inevitable results,which journal industry develops to a certain historical stage.The selection criterion of core journals is journal centralization and decentralization law,namely,Bradford Law.Library of Chinese Academy of Sciences introduced firstly the concept of core journals and began to research them in the 80 decade of the 20th century.Some institutions also developed subsequently this research and have gotten a series of accomplishment.Along with the core journals influence enlarged and the academic circle drove,core journals have caught more and more attentions.The selection of core journals has undoubtedly a certain limitation but its positive side is bigger than the negative side as an objective existence.We should take rational attitude to core journals and diminish their negatives,make them play positive roles in the academic journal market.
