意象图式理论研究的进展与前沿

Research on the Focuses and Development of Image Schemas

Image schemas,discussed heatedly in cognitive semantics,derive from people's embodied experience in the world.Image schemas play a crucial role in inference.Image schemas,by means of transformations and mappings,enable humans to cognize the world,aiding people to predict and infer the possible results.The dimensions of image schemas,including their definitions,attributes,classifications and their status in philosophy,have all been thoroughly discussed.Furthermore,the findings in neuroscience,psychology,spatial cognition,forcefully support the existence of image schemas,while the studies in socio-cultural fields and literary interpretations constitute their meaningful extensions.However,the explorations of the distinctions and linkages between different schemas,and their integrations with the main aspects of human experience still need more efforts.All these postulates will be testified with the development of cognitive and brain science.
