Carol Shields in her novel Unless dredges the latent fact that the female,deluded by the male to be crowned with "goodness",are actually voiceless with no entitlement of repudiation and defiance except docile silence.The seeming lightness in the novel cannot adumbrate the author's composed thud in rebuking the silent reality that women are afflicted under dominance of men.The voicelessness to Carol Shields as a woman author is such an unbearable lightness.
