“鼓担”购书与《红楼梦》全璧

据程伟元自称,《红楼梦》后40回的一部分残稿是高价从“鼓担”上收购来的。胡适则认为“鼓担”购书类似神话,并且为程高二人串通作伪之“铁证”,后40回为高鹗所续之说遂成“定论”。据深谙故都旧俗人士的看法,程伟元购书于“鼓担”,不但合情合理,且属其搜罗佚书必循之途径。由此认定《红楼梦》后40回绝非程伟元、高鹗所续。胡适的高鹗“续书说”不能成立。

The Relationship between Buying from "Peddlars" and the Dream of Red Mansions

It is said as CHENG Wei-yuan, that some of the missing parts of the last forty chapters of the Dream of Red Mansions, was purchased from peddlars at high cost. But HU Shi thought that it' s impossible & treated it as an ironclad proof that CHENG Wei-yuan collaborated with GAO E to fake it up, the viewpoint that the Continuation of the last forty chapters written by GAO E became a final conclusion. The personage who are proficient in the one-time captical & old customs think that it's logical & necessary to get the missing parts from peddlars. So HU Shi' s viewpoint is untenable.
