中西方语言哲学对比分析及其启示

通过对中国古代语言哲学观和西方语言哲学思想梳理和分析,文章认为中西方不同的语言哲学观在各自的思维方式能得到反映:汉民族重悟性、重整体思维、形象思维和直观经验等,而西方人则重理性、重分析、重形式论证,重形式完备等;在各自语言上也得到反映:汉语为语义性,语法是隐性和柔性,英语为形态性,语法是显性和刚性。对比分析有利于揭示中西方语言的差异及其成因,为语言教学和研究以及翻译理论与实践的研究提供有力理论依据。

Contrastive Study of Chinese &Western Philosophies of Language and Its Enlightenment

Through the brief presentation of the traditional Chinese philosophy of language and western viewpoint of philosophy of language, the paper thinks that the different philosophies of the two languages can be reflected in the different thinking of the Chinese and western nations: the Han nationality stresses perception, wholeness, imagination and intuition, while the western people pay more attention to rationality, analysis, formal proof and perfect, and the philosophies can also be specifically reflected in the great differences between Chinese and English: the former is semantic with grammatical simplicity and flexibility, English is morphological with grammatical explicitness and rigidity. Finally, the paper stresses that the contrastive study will be of great help in the analysis of the differences between Chinese and English and their causes and ultimately provide theoretically solid basis for the language teaching, research and translation study of Chinese and English.
