史料引用致误原因分析

史料是史学研究的基础.但自古以来,由于种种原因,错误的或者事实模糊不清的史料很多,如果不作必要的考证鉴别,很难获得科学的研究成果.造成史料引用致误的原因是多方面的,归结起来主要有:(1)史料本身无误,由于没有正确理解原意或者标点不正确而致误;(2)史料本身无误,由于引用者推断不确而致误;(3)史料内容比较含蓄,由于引用者缺乏深入辨析而致误;(4)没有直接引用原书而致误;(5)因版本不善而造成史料的错误或脱漏;(6)史料本身就有错误.

Major Causes for Misquotation & Misuse of Historical Materials

Historical materials are the foundation for the stu dy of historiography. But many of them have since ancient times been incorrect or obscure for a variety of reasons. Therefore, it is not possible to achieve the r esults of scientific research without making any necessary differentiation or cr iticism regarding these materials. Major causes for misquoting and misusing them in academic research can be summed up as follows: (1) Misuse of correct materials because of the user's misunderstanding/misinterp retation/ mispunctuation, or of political purposes. (2) Misuse of correct materi als because of the user's faulty reasoning based on the wrong information or con text. (3) Misquotation of materials with hidden meaning as the quoter failed to read between the lines. (4) Misquotation from indirect or misquoted/mistaken his torical information. (5) Misquotation from the bad or unreliable edition or text as many ancient hist orical books each may have more than one edition. (6) Use of wrong historical ma terials, which had been manipulated for politi cal, factional or private purposes, or due to the writer's own mistakes.
