| 摘 要： | 运用平行研究的方法,就伊迪丝.沃顿的《快乐之家》和威廉.梅.萨克雷的《名利场》两部作品在故事背景、题材选取、情节、主题意旨、人物刻画及两位小说家的写作风格等方面的异同,作以粗浅的分析、比较,以便从中找出一些带有规律性的东西和对我们有益的启迪。

| Abstract: | Adopting the approach of parallel study in comparative literature, this paper intends to explore some similarities and differences between Edith Wharton's The House of Mirth and William M.Thackeray's Vanity Fair in terms of their settings,subject matters,plots,characterization,and the writing styles of the two novelists.Through the analysis and comparison the paper comes to draw something of regularities so as to provide some insights. |
