The advanced intellectuals in the period of the May 4th Movement and their roles in Chinese political propagation

The advanced intellectuals were the subjects of the political propagation in the period of the May 4th Movement. They took propagating politics as their conscientious mission and shoulder the task in political thought introduction and enlightenment; they were the leaders of the political thinking trend and the practitioners of the political thought. The epochal characteristics of the advanced intellectual＇s political propagation in the May 4th Movement period were embodied as follows： the combination of introduction of advanced thought with selection; the combination of publicity and practice of advanced thought and the combination of taking social obligations with selection of political values.
