解蔽“苏格拉底问题”

摘    要:“苏格拉底问题”由“德性即知识”和“德性可教”两个命题所构成,围绕这两个命题存在着长期误解和以讹传讹现象。“德性即知识”不是苏格拉底提出的,而是源于亚里士多德转述而由后人“过度诠释”的“假命题”:“德性可教”不是苏格拉底的观点,恰恰相反,苏格拉底原本观点是“德性不可教”。

Abstract:The "Socratic Problem" consists of two propositions, i. e. , "Virtue is knowledge" and "Virtue is teachable", which have been misunderstood for a long time. The fact is, however, that the former is not Socrates' invention, but a "false proposition" retailed by Aristotle and "over-interpreted" by his successors. Neither is the latter Socrates' own opinion; instead, his original idea was that "Virtue is not teachable".
