从洪堡特的语言观看翻译的可译性与不可译性

翻译可译性与否受到包括语言、心理、文化以及翻译方法等各种主客观因素的影响,这里我们仅从语言的层面来探讨翻译的可译性问题。本文在分析洪堡特语言观的基础上阐述了翻译中可译性与不可译性的关系问题。分析洪堡特的观点使我们对语言本身有更深入的了解,从而有助于深化我们对可译性(或不可译性)这一翻译观的理解。于是在把对语言的认识与对翻译观(可译或不可译的观点)的理解相结合的基础上,通过分析与例证,本文得出结论———没有绝对的可译性或是不可译性,也不能片面地认为哪一种观点更合理。事实上,我们应该辩证地看待两者。

On Translatability and Untranslatability from Humboldt's Views on Language

In this paper,the relationship between translatability and untranslatability is carefully discussed on the basis of analyzing Humboldt's views on language,from which we have a better understanding of the nature of language.and the translatability or untranslatability as well.On that basis,together with the explanation through examples,it is concluded that there's neither absolute translatability nor absolute untranslatability,and we cannot say which one is better but should dialectically deal with both.
