| 摘 要： | 英汉两种语言都存在着警策这种辞格。警策辞将表面矛盾、相互对立的概念有机地联系在一起,以表达某种生活哲理或复杂情感。虽然源于不同文化和语言结构,英汉警策辞在表现手段和认知意义上仍有许多共同之处。

| Abstract: | Paradox in English and Chinese is a figure of speech consisting of a statement which seems to be self-contradictory and contrary but contains some well-founded philosophical truth or complicated emotions .Although derived from different culture and linguistic structures ,this figure of speech in both languages shares some common features in terms of expressing devices and cognitive meaning .This paper is intended to explore their similarities in those two respects . |
