| Abstract: | Independent but closely related, translation and figures of speech are both linguistic art. Untranslatability is a blind angle in translation practice . From the viewpoint of figures of speech ,this article offers an analysis of untranslatability and points out that the phenomenon is unavoidable and needs much more attention ,and thus providing guidance for translation practice . |
