| 摘 要： | 由于文化、哲学、宗教、信仰等方面的差异,中英悼亡诗对爱妻之亡故的态度和表现方式不尽相同,具有不同的审美取向。中方视其为永诀,格调大多悲戚;英方视其为新生,彼世乐土再相聚,故悲中有慰。中方侧重伦理,爱妻之亡故彰显其善和大义,悼亡意象多贴近生活;英方侧重审美,主要凸显爱妻之貌美才美,多是想象性意象。

| Abstract: | The attitudes toward death and the means to express sorrow in elegiesof Chinese and English are different.This leads to different esthetics concerning death.In Chinese elegies,death is thought to be eternal parting,and the tone is sorrowful.They emphasize ethics: death makes the dead wife's merits perpetual and the imagery originates from daily routines.By contrast,in English elegies,death is regarded as rebirth and hope in their grief,focusing on the dead woman's beauty.And the imagery is imaginative and philosophical. |
