中美成功观的跨文化比较研究

在简述了马斯洛的不同阶段的人类需要层次理论的基础上,探讨了美国与中国的成功观及其各自的历史渊源,并对两者不同的成功价值观进行了跨文化比较。美国成功观的特点是美元至上,以个人为本位;中国的成功观的特点是权力至上,以社会为本位。随着物质文明的高度发展,美国人感到了心灵求索的迫切性与重要性,越来越多的以美国人为代表的西方人,正走近东方,向内在心灵走去,寻求“顶峰体验”;中国人正在努力学习西方的一些先进科学技术,努力推动社会物质文明的发展,也许东方也需要经历西方的高度物质文明所带来的精神空虚后,才会普遍地觉醒,并自觉地追寻与发掘自家的珍贵精神宝藏。

A Comparative Study on Chinese and American Success Value

With an introduction to Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs at different stages,this paper discusses Chinese and American success value and their historical origins.A comparison was made between the two different values.American success value marked with money-first mentality,focusing on individual.Chinese success value featured with its power-first concept,putting the society at the first place.Due to the advanced development of the material civilization,the Westerners,especially Americans were aware of the heart-exploring immediateness and importance,so more and more Americans have been seeking "peak experience".Whereas the Chinese have been striving to study the Western science and technology.Most likely,only would the Orient suffer from the spiritual void brought along with the material civilization before they would wake up and rediscover the most precious treasure embedded in its own culture.
