论语言模糊性特征与等效翻译

译界对语言的可译性与不可译性话题争辩已久.常态思维认为语言的“模糊性”是造成不可翻译或语言间“不可通约性”的直接原因;“模糊性”还会限制两种文化间的顺利交际,从而导致误译或歧义.然而,通过对“功能对等”、“可译性限度”、“语言模糊性思维”、“文化的兼容性”、“文化共相”以及“语言共相”的研究发现:语言的模糊性特征正好是实现“等效”或“可译性”的关键条件

On Language’s Fuzziness and Equivalent Effect

Whether language is translatable or untranslatable has long been disputed.It is usually argued that the fuzziness of language is the direct reason for untranslatability or incommensurability,for it causes mistranslation or ambiguity due to its restriction on the fluency of communication between the two cultures.With a review of such concepts as "functional equivalence","limitation of translatability","fuzziness of language","compatibility of culture","universaux culturels" and "universaux du langage",this article argues that fuzziness of language is the key factor to the realization of "equivalent effect" or "translatability"
