| Abstract: | Through analyzing the actual instances of men of letters who suffered misfortune of literary inquisition and the flooding of elegies succeeding the capital punishment of Gao Qi, the author discusses in this paper the forbearance and caution of men of letters during the reign of Emperor Hong Wu, and the resulting Tai Ge style in literary creation and the tendency of back to the ancients. |
