摘    要:冗余信息是指信息传递过程中比实际需要多的信息,它普遍存在于语言中。在语言交际中保持适度冗余是必要的。冗余主要表现为两种形式:信息复现和信息蕴涵。英语语言符号系统本身及语言符号使用过程中均存在大量冗余,前者主要体现在语音、词汇及语法层次上,后者主要体现为重复、宕词、应酬语、感情词语及违反会话“合作原则”。正确认识、把握冗余现象,可从听、说、读、写及测试等方面促进英语教学。

Abstract:Redundancy refers to the information beyond actual need in transmission.The phenomenon is widely spread in language.In language communication,moderate redundancy is necessary.Redundancy is mainly achieved through reappearance and implication of information.In English,there is considerable redundancy both in the language signs system itself and in its use process.In the former,redundancy exists at the level of sounds,vocabulary,and grammar.While in the latter,it is mainly embodied in repetition,verbal fillers,phatic communion,emotional words,and the flouting of the cooperative principle.Good understanding of redundancy will promote English teaching in such aspects as listening,speaking,reading,writing and testing.
