The novel History of Spirit shows that the creation of the author Zhang Chengzhi transforms from seeking cultural roots to seeking roots of ties of blood.Its brilliance lies in that it develops religious motif narrating.On the one hand,it inherits the idea that religious values are to be reflected through cultural comparison,and thus gives Islam culture a poetic explanation in modern Chinese literature.On the other hand,the author's passionate narrating embodies the expansion of religious motif narrating and the pursuit of Chinese intellectuals of freedom in expressing their religious values.
