语用因素语法化研究

非真实条件句,本质上都是表示说话人的一种认知推测,即根据假定的与事实相反或可能相反的条件,推测出一个实际上不存在或可能不存在的结果。这种推测意义在较古英语中完全是一个依附语境的语用因素,而现代英语则通过转喻模式,使这一语用因素找到一个词汇—形态—句法的统一体,从而实现了自身的语法化。

On the Grammaticalization of Pragmatic Factors

This article deals with the origin of the finite verb phrase in the unreal conditional sentence. First it makes a tentative criticism of some existing viewpoints on the problem; then through the metaphorical and metonymical models it makes a diachronic and dialectical analysis of the grammaticalization of the verb phrase concerned; and finally the author comes up with a hypothesis that the process of the formation and development of the syntactical structure of any human language is essentially a process of the grammaticalization of pragmatic factors.
