Impact on Modern Distance Education by the Next Generation Internet Based on IPv6 Protocol

With the development of computer network and multimedia, modern distance education has realized the networ king and realtime interactive forms of teaching. However, due to the bandwidth, transmission mechanisms, security and service of network, the quality and effectiveness of distance education have been affected. The next generation internet based on IPv6 protocol has provided technical support for the development of modern distance education with the charac teristics and advantages of IPv6 protocol. Based on the analysis of the characteristics of IPv6 technology and its present status home and abroad, this paper has studied the farreaching impact on modern distance education made by the next generation Internet in view of IPv6 protocol.
