Xiong Shi-li and Philosophical Transition of Modern Neo-Confucianism

This paper argues that as a representative figure in the early days of the modern Neo-Confucianism,Xiong Shi-li made important contributions to the philosophical transition of Confucianism based on Buddhism and western philosophy.It highlights the merits of Xiong' theories concerning cultural criticism,cultural value,cultural viewpoints and cultural transition,particularly his emphasis on dialogue and interaction between the Confucianism and its western counterpart.
