| 摘 要： | 阿弗瑞德.丁尼生（Alfred Tennyson）是维多利亚时代著名的大诗人,1850年继华兹华斯后被英国皇室认定为＂桂冠诗人＂,他的诗以＂韵律整齐、音乐感强烈＂著称。运用功能语言学理论对他的诗The Eagle进行分析,不仅视角新颖,而且尽显它在分析和欣赏英文诗歌方面的可应用性和操作性。

| Abstract: | Alfred Tennyson is regarded as the chief representative of the Victorian age in poetry. He succeeded Words worth as Poet Laureate in 1850. This paper is an attempt to study the poem ＂The Eagle＂ by Alfred Tennyson from the perspective of metafunctional functions in Halliday＇s systemic-functional linguistics. This study not only shows how a functional analysis can provide insight to the study of the English poem but also tests the applicability of systemic-functional linguistics in analyzing and appreciating English poems. |
