胡适与北洋军阀

胡适,作为一名忧心国家命运的爱国学,他不满北洋军阀政府的黑暗统治,主张建立“好人政府”,实行“联省自治”,以维系国家的统一,消除军闯的混战,促进国内的和平;作为一个改良主义,他所主张的“好人政府”成为服务于北洋军阀的工具,他所鼓吹的“联省自治”也成为军阀割据的借口。他只求改善,不求推翻,最终决定了他与北洋军阀的关系：抑闯不成反拥阀。

Hu Shi and the Northern Warlords

Hu Shi was dissatisfied with the dark rule of the Northern Warlords, advocated establishing "the government of kind people" and pursuing "joint autonomy among provinces". Such reformist advocacy was eventually utilized by the Northern Warlords. Hu Shi's subjective suppression of the Northern Warlords turned into the support of the Northern Warlords in reality.
