DEEP EXPLOITATION OF RESOURCES IN THE WESTERN AREA OF DONGTING LAKE: PROBLEMS AND COUNTERMEASURE

The western area of Dongting lake is one of the main marketable grain base in our country,and an important marketable base for pork,reed hemp and the freshwater aquiculture.Because of its geographical position,this area not only undertake the problem of many residents' lives and development,but also give play to storing flood-waters.Protecting the dispersion of vegetation in this area is basic for the function of restoring flood-water.Therefore,from analyzing the problems of the resources exploitation and use,and concerning about the higher unity of economy,social benefit and environment,it is very important to transform the model of resources use in the western area of Dongting lake.
