On the System of Creating Daoist Temples in Tang Dynasty

The system of creating Daoist Temples is the governmental policy which is on the setting and building of new Daoist Temples , the rebuilding, enlarging and renovating of old Daoist Temples ,upgrading the inferior Daoist Temples and the financing. This paper retrospects the history of creating Daoist Temples in brief, and presents the governmental regulation. Not only does it explain the system which the name was bestowed on the Buddhist and Daoist Temples as an important measure being taken by government in Tang Dynasty to dominate creating Daoist Temples,but also analyse the financing of creating Daoist Temples. The system of creating Daoist Temples is one of the management system on Taoism which is used by the government in Tang Dynasty.
