孟子廉洁观念的人性蕴涵

孟子认为廉是仁义道德这一行为标准在获取钱财方面的具体化。而仁义道德是人的本性,所以廉洁为人性所内涵。但人又同时存有兽性即自然属性,表现为人的自然欲望,如果没有道德的调节人的自然欲望必然会导致贪婪甚至不择手段,结果是兽性战胜人性,廉洁将不复存在。所以,保有人性才能保持廉洁。因此,廉洁在于向人的内心探求。廉洁是孟子的人性的坚守,是人的尊严所在。

Mencius' Lian Concept from the Humanity Implication

Mencius believed that Lian is the embodiment of benevolence,justice and morality which are the standards of conduct to obtain money.Because benevolence,justice and morality is human nature,Lian is the connotation of human nature.But at the same time,people have bestiality which is the natural attributes of people.It is the performance of the people's natural desire.If there isn't moral regulation,the desire of people will inevitably lead people to be greed or even unscrupulous.Consequently,animality will overcome humanity and Lian will cease to exist.So people must maintain humanity in order to keep Lian.Therefore,Lian is to explore the human heart.The Lian is the humanity of Mencius' commitment and is the performance of human dignity.
