Cultural Exploration on Chinese and Western Tragic Spirits

  • 摘要: 通过对中西方悲剧在主人公选择、剧情冲突和结局设计等方面的差异对比,发现中西方悲剧精神的不同主要表现为:中华民族的悲剧精神因源于"苦戏"而主要体现为国人对人与人关系的伦理道德批判和对人与自然高度统一的追求,个体自主意识较弱;而西方各民族的悲剧精神起源于"酒神"赞歌,个体自主意识较强,其所追求的和谐往往以牺牲个体为代价,体现了西方人对历史与人伦、理性与感性永恒矛盾的反思。
    Abstract: Based on the comparison of character choices, plot conflicts and ending designs between Chinese and western tragedies, it is found that the differences in Chinese and western tragic spirits mainly lie in the following aspects: Chinese tragedy originated from tragic drama and is to focus on the ethical relations of the people and to pursue the harmony between human and nature, which shows weak individual self-determination consciousness; while western tragic spirit develops from dithyramb and is to emphasize harmony at the expense of sacrificing individuals, which shows strong individual self-determination consciousness and the introspected contradiction between the historical relation and ethical perception.
