This is a study of the behaviors of the naive bootstrap and the Bayesian bootstrap clones designed to approximate the sampling distribution of the Aalen–Johansen estimator of a non-homogeneous censored Markov chain. The study shows that the approximations based on the Bayesian bootstrap clones and the naive bootstrap are first-order asymptotically equivalent. The two bootstrap methods are illustrated by a marketing example, and their performance is validated by a Monte Carlo experiment.  相似文献

This paper is concerned with the Bayesian prediction problem of the number of components which will fail in a future time interval. The failure times are distributed according to a finite mixture of a general class of distributions. Type-I censored sample from this nonhomogeneous population and a general class of prior density functions are used. A one-sample scheme is used to predict the number of failures in a future time interval. An example of a finite mixture of k exponential components is given to illustrate our results.  相似文献

In this paper, we discuss a progressively censored inverted exponentiated Rayleigh distribution. Estimation of unknown parameters is considered under progressive censoring using maximum likelihood and Bayesian approaches. Bayes estimators of unknown parameters are derived with respect to different symmetric and asymmetric loss functions using gamma prior distributions. An importance sampling procedure is taken into consideration for deriving these estimates. Further highest posterior density intervals for unknown parameters are constructed and for comparison purposes bootstrap intervals are also obtained. Prediction of future observations is studied in one- and two-sample situations from classical and Bayesian viewpoint. We further establish optimum censoring schemes using Bayesian approach. Finally, we conduct a simulation study to compare the performance of proposed methods and analyse two real data sets for illustration purposes.  相似文献

In this article, based on progressively Type-II censored samples from a heterogeneous population that can be represented by a finite mixture of two-component Rayleigh lifetime model, the problem of estimating the parameters and some lifetime parameters (reliability and hazard functions) are considered. Both Bayesian and maximum likelihood estimators are of interest. A class of natural conjugate prior densities is considered in the Bayesian setting. The Bayes estimators are obtained using both the symmetric (squared error) loss function, and the asymmetric (LINEX and General Entropy) loss functions. It has been seen that the estimators obtained can be easily evaluated for this type of censoring by using suitable numerical methods. Finally, the performance of the estimates have been compared on the basis of their simulated maximum square error via a Monte Carlo simulation study.  相似文献

This article considers the constant stress accelerated life test for series system products, where independent log-normal distributed lifetimes are assumed for the components. Based on Type-I progressive hybrid censored and masked data, the expectation-maximization algorithm is applied to obtain the estimation for the unknown parameters, and the parametric bootstrap method is used for the standard deviation estimation. In addition, Bayesian approach combining latent variable with Gibbs sampling is developed. Further, the reliability functions of the system and components are estimated at use stress level. The proposed method is illustrated through a numerical example under different masking probabilities and censoring schemes.  相似文献

In this article, we study the problem of selecting the best population from among several exponential populations based on interval censored samples using a Bayesian approach. A Bayes selection procedure and a curtailed Bayes selection procedure are derived. We show that these two Bayes selection procedures are equivalent. A numerical example is provided to illustrate the application of the two selection procedure. We also use Monte Carlo simulation to study performance of the two selection procedures. The numerical results of the simulation study demonstrate that the curtailed Bayes selection procedure has good performance because it can substantially reduce the duration time of life test experiment.  相似文献

The paper considers the goodness of fit tests with right censored data or doubly censored data. The Fredholm Integral Equation (FIE) method proposed by Ren (1993) is implemented in the simulation studies to estimate the null distribution of the Cramér-von Mises test statistics and the asymptotic covariance function of the self-consistent estimator for the lifetime distribution with right censored data or doubly censored data. We show that for fixed alternatives, the bootstrap method does not estimate the null distribution consistently for doubly censored data. For the right censored case, a comparison between the performance of FIE and the η out of η bootstrap shows that FIE gives better estimation for the null distribution. The application of FIE to a set of right censored Channing House data and to a set of doubly censored breast cancer data is presented.  相似文献

In this paper, when a jointly Type-II censored sample arising from k independent exponential populations is available, the conditional MLEs of the k exponential mean parameters are derived. The moment generating functions and the exact densities of these MLEs are obtained using which exact confidence intervals are developed for the parameters. Moreover, approximate confidence intervals based on the asymptotic normality of the MLEs and credible confidence regions from a Bayesian viewpoint are also discussed. An empirical comparison of the exact, approximate, bootstrap, and Bayesian intervals is also made in terms of coverage probabilities. Finally, an example is presented in order to illustrate all the methods of inference developed here.  相似文献

In this paper, we introduce the subdistribution beta‐Stacy process, a novel Bayesian nonparametric process prior for subdistribution functions useful for the analysis of competing risks data. In particular, we (i) characterize this process from a predictive perspective by means of an urn model with reinforcement, (ii) show that it is conjugate with respect to right‐censored data, and (iii) highlight its relations with other prior processes for competing risks data. Additionally, we consider the subdistribution beta‐Stacy process prior in a nonparametric regression model for competing risks data, which, contrary to most others available in the literature, is not based on the proportional hazards assumption.  相似文献

Comparative lifetime experiments are of great importance when the interest is in ascertaining the relative merits of k competing products with regard to their reliability. In this paper, when a joint progressively Type-II censored sample arising from k independent exponential populations is available, the conditional MLEs of the k exponential mean parameters are derived. Their conditional moment generating functions and exact densities are obtained, using which exact confidence intervals are developed for the parameters. Moreover, approximate confidence intervals based on the asymptotic normality of the MLEs and credible confidence regions from a Bayesian viewpoint are discussed. An empirical evaluation of the exact, approximate, bootstrap, and Bayesian intervals is also made in terms of coverage probabilities and average widths. Finally, an example is presented in order to illustrate all the methods of inference developed here.  相似文献

Summary This paper introduces a Bayesian nonparametric estimator for an unknown distribution function based on left censored observations. Hjort (1990)/Lo (1993) introduced Bayesian nonparametric estimators derived from beta/beta-neutral processes which allow for right censoring. These processes are taken as priors from the class ofneutral to the right processes (Doksum, 1974). The Kaplan-Meier nonparametric product limit estimator can be obtained from these Bayesian nonparametric estimators in the limiting case of a vague prior. The present paper introduces what can be seen as the correspondingleft beta/beta-neutral process prior which allow for left censoring. The Bayesian nonparametyric estimator is obtained as in the corresponding product limit estimator based on left censored data.  相似文献

The generalized half-normal (GHN) distribution and progressive type-II censoring are considered in this article for studying some statistical inferences of constant-stress accelerated life testing. The EM algorithm is considered to calculate the maximum likelihood estimates. Fisher information matrix is formed depending on the missing information law and it is utilized for structuring the asymptomatic confidence intervals. Further, interval estimation is discussed through bootstrap intervals. The Tierney and Kadane method, importance sampling procedure and Metropolis-Hastings algorithm are utilized to compute Bayesian estimates. Furthermore, predictive estimates for censored data and the related prediction intervals are obtained. We consider three optimality criteria to find out the optimal stress level. A real data set is used to illustrate the importance of GHN distribution as an alternative lifetime model for well-known distributions. Finally, a simulation study is provided with discussion.  相似文献

In this article, we introduce a new scheme called joint progressive type-I (JPC-I) censored and as a special case, joint type-I censored scheme. Bayesian and non Bayesian estimators have been obtained for two exponential populations under both JPC-I censored scheme and joint type-I censored. The maximum likelihood estimators of the parameters, the asymptotic variance covariance matrix, have been obtained. Bayes estimators have been developed under squared error loss function using independent gamma prior distributions. Moreover, approximate confidence region based on the asymptotic normality of the maximum likelihood estimators and credible confidence region from a Bayesian viewpoint are also discussed and compared with two Bootstrap confidence regions. A numerical illustration for these new results is given.  相似文献

This paper describes a comprehensive survival analysis for the inverse Gaussian distribution employing Bayesian and Fiducial approaches. It focuses on making inferences on the inverse Gaussian (IG) parameters μ and λ and the average remaining time of censored units. A flexible Gibbs sampling approach applicable in the presence of censoring is discussed and illustrations with Type II, progressive Type II, and random rightly censored observations are included. The analyses are performed using both simulated IG data and empirical data examples. Further, the bootstrap comparisons are made between the Bayesian and Fiducial estimates. It is concluded that the shape parameter ( ϕ=λ/μ) of the inverse Gaussian distribution has the most impact on the two analyses, Bayesian vs. Fiducial, and so does the size of censoring in data to a lesser extent. Overall, both these approaches are effective in estimating IG parameters and the average remaining lifetime. The suggested Gibbs sampler allowed a great deal of flexibility in implementation for all types of censoring considered.  相似文献

Wild Bootstrapping in Finite Populations with Auxiliary Information   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
Consider a finite population u , which can be viewed as a realization of a super-population model. A simple ratio model (linear regression, without intercept) with heteroscedastic errors is supposed to have generated u . A random sample is drawn without replacement from u . In this set-up a two-stage wild bootstrap resampling scheme as well as several other useful forms of bootstrapping in finite populations will be considered. Some asymptotic results for various bootstrap approximations for normalized and Studentized versions of the well-known ratio and regression estimator are given. Bootstrap based confidence interval s for the population total and for the regression parameter of the underlying ratio model are also discussed  相似文献

In this article, the simple step-stress model is considered based on generalized Type-I hybrid censored data from the exponential distribution. The maximum likelihood estimators (MLEs) of the unknown parameters are derived assuming a cumulative exposure model. We then derive the exact distributions of the MLEs of the parameters using conditional moment generating functions. The Bayesian estimators of the parameters are derived and then compared with the MLEs. We also derive confidence intervals for the parameters using these exact distributions, asymptotic distributions of the MLEs, Bayesian, and the parametric bootstrap methods. The problem of determining the optimal stress-changing point is discussed and the MLEs of the pth quantile and reliability functions at the use condition are obtained. Finally, Monte Carlo simulation and some numerical results are presented for illustrating all the inferential methods developed here.  相似文献

Cramér–von Mises type goodness of fit tests for interval censored data case 2 are proposed based on a resampling method called the leveraged bootstrap, and their asymptotic consistency is shown. The proposed tests are computationally efficient, and in fact can be applied to other types of censored data, including right censored data, doubly censored data and (mixture of) case k interval censored data. Some simulation results and an example from AIDS research are presented.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

The score test and the GOF test for the inverse Gaussian distribution, in particular the latter, are known to have large size distortion and hence unreliable power when referring to the asymptotic critical values. We show in this paper that with the appropriately bootstrapped critical values, these tests become second-order accurate, with size distortion being essentially eliminated and power more reliable. Two major generalizations of the score test are made: one is to allow the data to be right-censored, and the other is to allow the existence of covariate effects. A data mapping method is introduced for the bootstrap to be able to produce censored data that are conformable with the null model. Monte Carlo results clearly favour the proposed bootstrap tests. Real data illustrations are given.  相似文献

In this article, we investigate the efficiency of score tests for testing a censored Poisson regression model against censored negative binomial regression alternatives. Based on the results of a simulation study, score tests using the normal approximation, underestimate the nominal significance level. To remedy this problem, bootstrap methods are proposed. We find that bootstrap methods keep the significance level close to the nominal one and have greater power uniformly than does the normal approximation for testing the hypothesis.  相似文献
