This paper considers the nonparametric inverse probability weighted estimation for functional data with missing response data at random. Under mild conditions, the asymptotic properties of the proposed estimation method are established. Based on the resampling method, the estimation of the asymptotic variance of the proposed estimator is obtained. Finally, the finite sample properties of the proposed estimation method are investigated via Monte Carlo simulation studies. A real data analysis is given to illustrate the use of the proposed method.  相似文献

We investigate the problem of estimating the association between two related survival variables when they follow a copula model and bivariate left-truncated and right-censored data are available. By expressing truncation probability as the functional of marginal survival functions, we propose a two-stage estimation procedure for estimating the parameters of Archimedean copulas. The asymptotic properties of the proposed estimators are established. Simulation studies are conducted to investigate the finite sample properties of the proposed estimators. The proposed method is applied to a bivariate RNA data.  相似文献

This paper defines a general procedure for estimating the population mean of the study variate based on double sampling for stratification in presence of multi-auxiliary information. Classes of combined and separate estimators have been suggested and their properties are studied under large sample approximation. A class of unstratified double sampling estimators is also proposed with its properties. Asymptotic optimum estimators in the classes are identified with their approximate variance formulae. Further the proposed classes of estimators are compared with the corresponding class of estimators based on un-stratified double sampling. All findings are encouraging and support the soundness of the proposed procedure for mean estimation.  相似文献

This paper focuses on the variable selection for semiparametric varying coefficient partially linear model when the covariates are measured with additive errors and the response is missing. An adaptive lasso estimator and the smoothly clipped absolute deviation estimator as a comparison for the parameters are proposed. With the proper selection of regularization parameter, the sampling properties including the consistency of the two procedures and the oracle properties are established. Furthermore, the algorithms and corresponding standard error formulas are discussed. A simulation study is carried out to assess the finite sample performance of the proposed methods.  相似文献

In this paper, we proposed a new two-parameter lifetime distribution with increasing failure rate. The new distribution arises on a latent complementary risk scenario. The properties of the proposed distribution are discussed, including a formal proof of its density function and an explicit algebraic formulae for its quantiles and survival and hazard functions. Also, we have discussed inference aspects of the model proposed via Bayesian inference by using Markov chain Monte Carlo simulation. A simulation study investigates the frequentist properties of the proposed estimators obtained under the assumptions of non-informative priors. Further, some discussions on models selection criteria are given. The developed methodology is illustrated on a real data set.  相似文献

Adaptive procedures proposed by Hogg are based on selector statistics for the skewness and the tails. The asymptotic properties of several proposed selector statistics are investigated. Since ail these statistics have under some assumptions asymptoti¬cally a normal distribution, their properties depend on the asymptotic bias and variance. The reasonable concept to compare the different selector statistics is based on the selection probabil¬ities in discriminating the type of the underlying distribution. We consider variable selection in linear regression of geostatistical data that arise often in environmental and ecological studies. A penalized least squares procedure is studied for simultaneous variable selection and parameter estimation. Various penalty functions are considered including smoothly clipped absolute deviation. Asymptotic properties of penalized least squares estimates, particularly the oracle properties, are established, under suitable regularity conditions imposed on a random field model for the error process. Moreover, computationally feasible algorithms are proposed for estimating regression coefficients and their standard errors. Finite‐sample properties of the proposed methods are investigated in a simulation study and comparison is made among different penalty functions. Summary This paper describes an axiomatic approach to index number theory. A general bilaeral formula which generates a set of indices of prices and quantities is proposed. This formula is written as a geometric mean, weighted with logarithmic means of relative values, and includes all of those indices and related cofactors which satisfy the following axiomatic properties: strong identity, commensurability, linear homogeneity and associativity (or monotonicity). Moreover, two subsets of indices are identified: the first subset includes those which can be expressed either as geometric means or as expenditure ratios; the corresponding bounds are given by the Laspeyres' and Paasche's indices. The second subset also satisfies the desired properties of base and factor reversibility; in this case the bounds are given by Sato Vartia's and Fisher's indices. In addition it is shown that the intersection between the two subsets identifies a new bilateral ideal index which satisfies the axiomatic and reversibility properties (base and factor) and may also be written as an expenditure ratio. All other formulas, which do not belong to the family of the proposed indices, violate some of the axiomatic properties. For multilateral comparisons, a mixed system of direct and indirect indices which satisfies the transitivity condition is proposed.  相似文献

The cumulative incidence function plays an important role in assessing its treatment and covariate effects with competing risks data. In this article, we consider an additive hazard model allowing the time-varying covariate effects for the subdistribution and propose the weighted estimating equation under the covariate-dependent censoring by fitting the Cox-type hazard model for the censoring distribution. When there exists some association between the censoring time and the covariates, the proposed coefficients’ estimations are unbiased and the large-sample properties are established. The finite-sample properties of the proposed estimators are examined in the simulation study. The proposed Cox-weighted method is applied to a competing risks dataset from a Hodgkin's disease study.  相似文献

The ordinary least squares (OLS)estimator of regression coeffecient is implicitly based on I.I.D.assumption, which is rarely satisfied by survey data. Many approaches are proposed in the literature which can be classified in two broad categories as model based and design consistent.Du Mouchel and Duncan (1983) proposed a test statistic λwhich helps in testing the ignorability of sampling weights.In this article a preliminary test estimator based on λ is proposed. The model based properties of this estimator has been invetigated theoritically where as to study the design based properties simulation approach is adopted. Abstract.  Dependence structures between the failure time and the cause of failure are expressed in terms of the monotonicity properties of the conditional probabilities involving the cause of failure and the failure time. These properties of the conditional probabilities are used for testing four types of departures from the independence of the failure time and the cause of failure and tests based on U -statistics are proposed. In the process, a concept of concordance and discordance between a continuous and a binary variable is introduced to propose a statistical test. In longitudinal studies, missing responses and mismeasured covariates are commonly seen due to the data collection process. Without cautiousness in data analysis, inferences from the standard statistical approaches may lead to wrong conclusions. In order to improve the estimation for longitudinal data analysis, a doubly robust estimation method for partially linear models, which can simultaneously account for the missing responses and mismeasured covariates, is proposed. Imprecisions of covariates are corrected by taking advantage of the independence between replicate measurement errors, and missing responses are handled by the doubly robust estimation under the mechanism of missing at random. The asymptotic properties of the proposed estimators are established under regularity conditions, and simulation studies demonstrate desired properties. Finally, the proposed method is applied to data from the Lifestyle Education for Activity and Nutrition study.  相似文献

A multi-arm response-adaptive allocation design is developed for circular treatment outcomes. Several exact and asymptotic properties of the design are studied. Stage-wise treatment selection procedures based on the proposed response-adaptive design are also suggested to exclude the worse performing treatment(s) at earlier stages. Detailed simulation study is carried out to evaluate the proposed selection procedures. The applicability of the proposed methodologies is illustrated through a real clinical trial data on cataract surgery.  相似文献

In order to overcome multicollinearity, the almost unbiased ridge-type principal component estimator is proposed. The scalar mean squared error of the proposed estimator is derived and its properties are investigated. The aim of this article is twofold: on the one hand to introduce and study some of the statistical properties of an estimator for the Shannon entropy and on the other hand to develop a goodness-of-fit test for beta-generated distributions and the distribution of order statistics. Beta-generated distributions are a broad class of univariate distributions which has received great attention during the last 15 years, as it obeys nice properties and it extends the distribution of order statistics. The proposed estimator of Shannon entropy of beta-generated distributions is motivated by the respective Vasicek’s estimator, as the latter one is tailored to the class of the beta-generated distributions and the distribution of order statistics. The estimator of Shannon entropy is defined and its consistency is studied. It is, moreover, exploited to build a goodness-of-fit test for the beta-generated distribution and the distribution of order statistics. Simulations are performed to examine the small- and moderate-sample properties of the proposed estimator and to compare the power of the proposed test with the power of competitors under a variety of alternatives.  相似文献

A class of tests for the hypothesis that the baseline hazard function in Cox's proportional hazards model and for a general recurrent event model belongs to a parametric family C identical with {lambda(0)(.; xi): xi in Xi} is proposed. Finite properties of the tests are examined via simulations, while asymptotic properties of the tests under a contiguous sequence of local alternatives are studied theoretically. An application of the tests to the general recurrent event model, which is an extended minimal repair model admitting covariates, is demonstrated. In the present work, whenever the response variables are binary, we frame an adaptive allocation rule for a two-treatment two-period crossover design in the presence of possible carry-over effects. The proposed rule is a combination of the play-the-winner and randomized play-the-winner rules. We study various properties of the proposed rule through asymptotics and simulations. Improved two phase sampling exponential ratio and product type estimators for population mean using known coefficient of variation of study character in the presence of non response have been proposed and their properties are studied under large sample approximation. The proposed estimators are compared with the other existing estimators by using the MSE criterion and the conditions under which the proposed estimators perform better are obtained. An empirical study is also given to judge the performance of the proposed estimators. A new calibration estimator is proposed to estimate the population mean in the stratified random sampling. The corrected expression of Tracy et al. (2003) calibrated weights are presented and new improved calibration weights are introduced. Theoretical variance of the suggested estimator is discussed.
