The year 2000 is the 55th anniversary of the victory of the War of Resistance Against Japan. Chinese Comfort Women victims of the War suffered physically and emotionally from the demands of Japanese armies. Though they are now elderly, these Chinese women, and the Chinese people as a whole, will never forget the barbarous crimes of the Japanese during World War Ⅱ. IN the mid- and late-1980s a debate was held in China concerning the issue of women's employment.
